Welcome to the Intentional and Wise blog!

I have no idea what I am delving into, but I know that I will never truly know until I start, which is why I am here today. For a long time, I’ve felt a quiet nudge in my spirit to start a blog yet fear and imposter syndrome have held me back. Even as I write this now, my mind is racing with all sorts of anxious thoughts, and my pulse is slowly picking up. Nonetheless, today I decided to finally do it, and I am so glad that you found your way here.
I think many of us are familiar with the question, “What do you have in your hand?”. For those who may not be familiar with it, this question does not inquire of what a person literally has in their physical hand but rather implores them to consider the resources, talents and gifts they have, no matter how insignificant they may seem. It is taken from the verse Exodus 4:2, which recounts the divine encounter that Moses had with God, by means of a burning bush that was not consumed by the flames. During this encounter, God was enquiring about a literal item that Moses had in his physical hand: his shepherding staff. Before this, Moses had expressed doubt about taking on the assignment God had given Him, citing his lack of resources, strength, and talent. To sum up the rest of the encounter, what Moses thought of as an ordinary shepherding staff, God used as an instrument to showcase great wonders, including the incredible miracle of parting the red sea.
When I doubted in my heart that I could start this journey of blogging, I felt this same question (“What do you have in your hand?”) echoing in my mind, and I realized that it was an indication that I was overlooking a gift that I had, as Moses had done. As I began to interrogate this desire to start blogging more deeply, I realized that this calling had always been a part of my life, in some way or the other. The Holy Spirit enlightens us through memories of moments when our gifts were evident – these can be small or significant, but in each moment, there is always a spark in our spirit. In the same way, memories from my past confirmed to me that my mind has always been an oasis of unique perspectives and ideas. For instance, I realized that throughout my whole life, people have positively commented on my ability to notably articulate myself through both writing and speech. This is why you are here today, reading this post. I am not saying all this to gloat but rather give you the proper context regarding the conception of this blog, and perhaps to point out that you do not need to have extra special capabilities in order to be gifted or talented; what you already have is more than enough.
Thank you for stopping by and stay tuned for the next blog post, where I will be delving more into the vision I have for this blog. Stay blessed!
